money to give away

The Community Foundation North Okanagan is looking for charities to donate money to.

The annual Smart and Caring Community Grants program is now accepting applications and charities throughout the North Okanagan are encouraged to apply for funding.

“Organizations have adapted their programs and managed their scarce resources to deal with the ongoing pandemic and the ever-changing needs of the community,” said Leanne Hammond, chief executive of the foundation. “Our granting committee will be more flexible with project guidelines and approval criteria. We truly understand the strain the pandemic is putting on the nonprofit sector and we’re here to support you. »

Grants meet a wide variety of social, cultural, educational, and environmental needs, while keeping a pulse on issues unique to the North Okanagan. In the nonprofit sector, this is called responsive grantmaking, also defined as a flexible source of funding that has limited program criteria that can change as community needs change.

Organizations interested in submitting an application can do so online. Applications for the grant program are accepted until March 31.
